Oracle AI Workspace Brings ChatGPT Into Fusion and NetSuite

Oracle just announced a way to run your Oracle apps from inside ChatGPT, and the part the headlines skip is that you can't use it yet. Oracle AI Workspace was unveiled on October 27 at Oracle AI World, and Oracle lists it as "coming soon" with no date and no price.

If you run marketing or marketing ops on Oracle, this piece sorts what is real today from what is not. It also names the data and permission work worth starting before the launch.

What Oracle AI Workspace is

Oracle's announcement, as summarized by Unite.AI, describes AI Workspace as one interface that combines OpenAI models with Oracle applications, data and cloud services. Access runs through ChatGPT plugins, which are connectors that let ChatGPT call another system's tools. The named connections are Oracle Fusion Applications, NetSuite, Oracle AI Database and OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).

Techzine describes the flow. You state a goal in ChatGPT, the plugins pull the relevant Oracle tools and data, and ChatGPT retrieves information, runs approved workflows and takes actions. Oracle says the work happens within existing permissions and approvals, and that Oracle's applications still handle the authoritative business tasks.

There is a gap. One write-up notes that Oracle hasn't published a permissions model or a list of supported workflows.

What is real today and what is not

| Offering | Status in the coverage I read | | --- | --- | | AI Workspace | "Coming soon", no date, no price | | App Composer | Limited Availability, no price | | AI SMB Bundle | Announced, with strict eligibility rules | | AI Security Mesh | No availability stated | | Fusion Claw | Reported as available since September 29 |

App Composer lets employees build apps with Codex, OpenAI's coding agent. Oracle deploys and runs them on OCI. Per Unite.AI, IT controls who can use each app, which business systems it can reach, and the policies and cost controls that apply.

The AI SMB Bundle combines ChatGPT Business, AI Workspace, Codex and App Composer, OCI and NetSuite QuickStart. It includes $12,000 a year in OCI credits for up to three years, subject to eligibility review. It is limited to verified, privately held, independent, for-profit US businesses. Existing Oracle customers who have consumed more than $250,000 in Universal Credits are excluded, and OCI usage beyond the credits is billable.

Fusion Claw is the one item you can buy now, according to this analysis. It is a set of 25 agentic apps in Fusion, billed by AI units as work completes. That is one outlet's report, so confirm it with your Oracle rep.

Does Oracle AI Workspace cover marketing apps?

No marketing application appears in any of the announcement coverage I read, and the connections Oracle names are Fusion Applications, NetSuite, Oracle AI Database and OCI. Don't assume a plugin exists for tools such as Oracle Eloqua or Responsys.

Marketing teams are not shut out. If campaign spend, orders and revenue sit in NetSuite or Fusion, those systems are on the list. The gap is that a ChatGPT path to your campaign tooling is unannounced.

What to do on Monday morning

  1. Pay only for dated items. The Beri analysis suggests keeping undated products on a separate renewal schedule with no committed spend.
  2. Audit who can see what. If AI Workspace works within existing permissions, a ChatGPT session is only as scoped as the user's Oracle role. A role that is too broad today becomes easier to exploit once anyone can ask a plain-English question.
  3. Map your data. List where campaign, customer and revenue data lives, and mark which of it sits in the four named systems.
  4. Shortlist three to five workflows. Pick tasks you would want ChatGPT to run, and name the person who approves each one.
  5. Put questions to your Oracle rep in writing. Ask for the launch date, the price, the supported ChatGPT plans, how admin control is split between OpenAI and Oracle, audit logging, and whether any marketing product is on the plugin roadmap.
  6. Check SMB Bundle eligibility first if you are a small US business. It is the only part with published terms.

For anyone putting AI into production, an assistant wired into your systems of record is only as safe as the permissions and data hygiene underneath it, so that is the work to start before the launch date arrives.
